Empty nester mom of six creates handcrafted rosaries!
A Story of love...How it all began
My faith journey started in 1982 when I came into full communion with the church at the age of 16. Seeds were planted. I and others watered those seeds. My faith played an important role in leading me to marry my husband and for us to welcome six precious souls into our family and into this world. And life has been full, challenging and rewarding.
Crosses
Over the years there have been so many blessings and joyful moments. And of course there has been suffering, challenges, pain and crosses to carry. And God is always there. At some point I developed a love and deep devotion to “Our Mother of Perpetual Help”. This led to a deeper devotion to the rosary. The rosary is a beautiful prayer. It walks the faithful through the gospels, reflecting on the life of Christ.
Inspiration
Early in 2021 my daughter and her husband suffered a miscarriage. Later that year as Mother’s Day approached my daughter shared with me how difficult it was going to be for her and her husband on that day. She was a mother but her child was not with her. I decided to make a rosary to give her on Mother’s Day. I didn’t know how but I was determined to learn. I made her a rosary and attached a Saint Gerard medal with the baby’s name and year engraved on the back. Creating this rosary, out of love, was a beautiful, prayerful and holy experience.
Pieta Presence Is Born
Making the rosary for my daughter fed my soul. I decided to make a rosary for each of my children, their spouses and my husband for their birthdays that year. Even though I experience physical discomfort while making rosaries it is still a beautiful, prayerful time that I cherish. Selecting the beads, the accents, the centerpiece and the crucifix for each rosary is also a spiritually fulfilling process. I so enjoyed gifting these creations to the those I love.
